Ross specialises in advising on professional and financial lines insurance risks including Directors & Officers (D&O), both defence and claims coverage, and the monitoring of complex litigation often centred around offshore jurisdictions. After 30 years practicing in the London insurance market, Ross has brought his immense experience to Hong Kong.

Ross represents insurers across a range of sectors where his instructions include providing coverage advice in relation to financial institution policies and defending complex, high-value claims against accountants, barristers, corporate service providers, insurance brokers and solicitors, often where hard-fought professional reputations are at stake.

Ross' D&O practice is focused on providing coverage advice and the monitoring of complex litigation often centred around offshore jurisdictions such as Cyprus, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.  

Relevant experience includes:

• Providing coverage advice to Insurers of a Hong Kong bank in relation to a US$ multi-million claim arising from a well-publicised international insurance fraud.
• Advising the London Market in relation to a £100million negligence claim against an offshore professional trustee. The claim was successfully settled after two days of mediation saving the insurance tower multi-millions of pounds on the expected outcome.
• Representing a boutique London law firm in a US$100 million claim arising from the solicitors’ inadvertent involvement in an offshore Ponzi scheme.
• Successfully defending a major UK law firm in a substantial claim relating to advice provided in a dispute involving a Premier League Football Club.

Ross is the regular lawyer attendee at the monthly Professional Indemnity Forum meetings of London Market professional indemnity underwriters held under the auspices of the IUA.
